Casey Dee Herring, a 30-year-old man from Ferriday, Louisiana, was last seen on October 25, 2009, in Natchez, Mississippi. At the time, Herring was staying at a Best Western hotel in Natchez, just across the Mississippi River from his home in Ferriday. He asked the hotel staff to call an ambulance due to an injury to his ankle, but when the ambulance arrived, Herring ran off toward the Natchez Visitor and Reception Center. This was the last confirmed sighting of him.
Herring was wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans, and socks at the time, but he was not wearing shoes. He had a broken right foot, which caused him to limp, and he was reportedly suffering from mental health issues, including possibly bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Despite searches and occasional leads, such as a tip in 2012 suggesting he might be working on a farm under an assumed name, no substantial information has surfaced regarding his whereabouts.
Herring’s family and law enforcement continue to seek answers, and his case remains open. If anyone has information, they are urged to contact the Natchez Police Department.
