Christopher Vernon Hyde, a 24-year-old Black male, was last seen in Orlando, Florida on June 25, 2003. His case remains unsolved, and the Orlando Police Department is investigating. Hyde, also known as Chris, is described as being 5'10" and weighing approximately 175 pounds, with brown hair and brown/green eyes.
Hyde had lost contact with his family sometime in 1999, four years prior to his official disappearance.
He was reportedly sighted at the New Life Ministries homeless shelter on June 25, 2003, a sighting that was confirmed by law enforcement. Another source indicates that on that same day, he was checked into Manatee Glens Hospital, now known as Centerstone. After a two-week stay, he was discharged and referred to The Salvation Army but never arrived. It is also noted that he has a developmental disorder, mental illness, and a speech impairment which includes stuttering.
Since his disappearance, his whereabouts remain unknown. In 2012, his family was informed by the sheriff's office that an application for a phone had been made in his name.
