Reported missing in November of 2023, we have located the remains of Geovanny Paredes Colon. The 49-year-old father of six was last seen leaving his workplace in Orlando, Florida, during the early hours of November 20. When he failed to return home and attempts to reach him went unanswered, his family promptly reported him missing. He was believed to be driving a 2009 white Toyota Corolla, which was also unaccounted for.
Over the following months, local law enforcement conducted numerous searches and investigative efforts but were unable to locate either Geovanny or his vehicle. The case grew increasingly cold until early 2025, when it was taken up by Sunshine State Sonar, a nonprofit search-and-recovery team specializing in underwater investigations. Utilizing sonar equipment and detailed mapping of probable routes, the team systematically searched bodies of water in the Orlando area.
On February 21, 2025, after an extensive two-month effort involving scans of over 170 bodies of water, the sonar team identified a submerged vehicle in a small retention pond off North Dean Road. Divers confirmed that it matched the description of Geovanny’s Toyota Corolla. Inside the vehicle, they discovered human remains. The Florida Highway Patrol immediately launched a crash investigation, and the remains were turned over to the medical examiner for DNA confirmation.
Although the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, no immediate signs of foul play have been reported. The discovery offers long-awaited closure to Geovanny’s family, who had spent over a year searching for answers.
