On August 9, 2001, 21-year-old Jason Anthony Franks was reported missing from a campsite near the Klamath, California and Chiloquin, Oregon area. Franks was on a camping trip with friends who reportedly left him alone at the site to go into town. When his friends returned, Franks was gone and has not been seen or heard from since. At the time of his disappearance, he was a resident of Alturas, California.
