Maria Fatema Soares, 61, was reported missing after she was last seen on Monday, July 1, 2025, near the 100 block of Polk Street in Newark’s Ironbound area. Authorities described her as 5 feet 4 inches tall and about 200 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, and an infinity tattoo on her wrist. Newark’s Department of Public Safety issued a public appeal for assistance as the search began.
