On a spring day in 1994, a mother of four named Lisa Bacote vanished, leaving behind a painful and enduring mystery for her family and community. On May 18, 1994, the 35-year-old left her family's residence with the stated intention of visiting a friend on South 6th Street in Newark, New Jersey.
