In the late afternoon of June 20, 2025, concern began to grow for 75-year-old Steven Wright, a resident of Dallas, Oregon. A family member, unable to make contact with him, reached out to the Polk County Sheriff's Office to report him missing. The situation took a puzzling turn later that evening when Mr. Wright himself called a family member around 10:00 PM.
