On October 8, 1988, 35-year-old Deborah Jean Gossman was at her parents' home in Moorhead, Minnesota, where she was living at the time. On that day, she borrowed her family's pickup truck, a black and blue 1982 Chevrolet S-10, and was never seen or heard from again. At the time of her disappearance, it was thought that she might have been headed to California or South Dakota.
