Charles Lee Reese, a 24-year-old civilian employee of the Military Sealift Command, was reported missing on September 28, 2022, from Nags Head, North Carolina. At the time of his disappearance, Reese was working aboard the USS Medgar Evers a Navy supply ship. The following day, on September 29, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service was notified that Reese was presumed to have fallen overboard off the coast of North Carolina.
