Daniel Olson, a 38-year-old man from West Fargo, North Dakota, has been missing since October 28, 2021. He was last seen in Fargo, and his disappearance has raised concerns as it was highly unusual for him to not show up for work without notice. Daniel worked as a research assistant at North Dakota State University in the Department of Soil Science.
He was described by friends and colleagues as a diligent worker, and his sudden absence led his employer to report him missing after he could not be reached.
On November 4, 2021, Daniel's vehicle was found abandoned near Cottonwood Park in Bismarck, North Dakota, with many of his personal belongings still inside. Authorities conducted an extensive search of the park and nearby areas using search teams, drones, underwater sonar, and even sniffer dogs, but no trace of Daniel was found. Despite the thorough search, his whereabouts remain unknown, and the investigation remains active. Daniel Olson was also known to be a veteran of the North Dakota National Guard and had served two years in Iraq.
