Robert Anderson, aged 31, was last seen on August 15, 1993, alongside his girlfriend, Kristen Diede, in Wishek, North Dakota. The couple had traveled from Minnesota to Wishek to drop off Diede's two children at their paternal grandparents' home. After this, Diede called friends, expressing concerns about difficulties related to retrieving her children, who were in a custody battle following her divorce.
