Kimberly Ashby, a 58-year-old woman, was reported missing on September 27, 2024, from Elk Park, North Carolina. The disappearance occurred amid severe flooding caused by Hurricane Helene, which swept away Kimberly's home. At the time, Kimberly, her husband, and their three dogs were at their vacation home on Water Sound Drive when the house was engulfed by the Elk River.
