On a Sunday in early 1984, the quiet life of 31-year-old Sandra Kay Ross was abruptly interrupted, leaving her family and community with decades of unanswered questions. A dedicated nurse and mother to a 16-month-old daughter, Sandra was last seen leaving her home in Apex, North Carolina. Her husband, Robert Ross, informed authorities that she had gone to a local pharmacy at the Cary Village Mall around noon to pick up medication for their sick child.
