On a Saturday evening in the Broad Ripple area of Indianapolis, Indiana, 41-year-old Daniel Daryl Standifer was last seen on September 24, 1994. He was in the vicinity of 65th and College at approximately 6:00 p.m. Reports indicate he had been at the Stone Mug Cafe, a local bar, where he was playing pool. An altercation is said to have occurred in the parking lot, after which Standifer left the establishment on foot.
He was expected to get a ride from the bar to his brother's birthday party, an event he never attended. His apartment was reportedly a mile south of the bar, and it is possible he was walking in that direction when he disappeared. He has not been seen or heard from since that evening.
At the time of his disappearance, Daniel, also known as "Danny" or "Dan," was described as a white male with brown hair, which he may have worn in a ponytail, and hazel eyes. He stood between 5'4" and 5'6" tall and weighed between 160 and 165 pounds. He had several distinguishing tattoos, including a spider web on each elbow and a scorpion on his outer right forearm. He also had a small gap between his upper front teeth and a previously fractured jaw. On the day he went missing, he was wearing a light blue t-shirt, blue cut-off shorts, white socks, and white Converse athletic shoes. He was also wearing a gold watch. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was assigned to the case, with a report being filed on May 10, 2000.
Due to what has been described as an "erratic" lifestyle and a history of substance abuse, his family was not immediately alarmed by his absence. However, as time passed with no contact, their concern grew, and they now believe he is no longer alive. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unknown.
