The car was later found abandoned off Highway 395 near the California-Nevada border, but there was no sign of Burt or Steven at the scene.
Burt had several distinguishing features, including a tattoo of a dog's head on his left shoulder, a dollar sign tattoo on his left bicep, and an appendectomy scar on his abdomen. Despite extensive investigations, no clues have surfaced regarding their disappearance, and their case remains unsolved.
