Emma Frances Tresp, a 71-year-old woman from North Little Rock, Arkansas, went missing on August 31, 1998, while on her way to a religious retreat at the Benedictine Monastery of Our Lady of Guadalupe near Pecos, New Mexico. She had left her daughter's home in Stillwater, Oklahoma, earlier that day and was last seen stopping for gas at approximately 3:00 PM in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Despite being familiar with the route, Emma never arrived at her destination.
