In the late morning of February 2, 2000, 33-year-old William 'Mark' Alley was seen for the last time in Lexington, North Carolina. Known by his middle name, Mark, he was the director of the Davidson County Museum of Art. On the day he disappeared, he was seen at the entrance of the Parkway Plaza Shopping Center around 11:00 a.m., shortly after leaving his job.
