William "Mark" Alley, a 33-year-old from Lexington, North Carolina, disappeared on February 2, 2000. He was the director of the Davidson County Museum of Art and had recently resigned from his position that day after being confronted by colleagues about $14,750 missing from the museum's funds. He was last seen leaving his office around 11:00 a.m. and did not return home. His wife reported him missing when he failed to pick up their child from the babysitter.
