James Elworth Craven, a 55-year-old man from Lexington, North Carolina, was last seen on March 6, 1985. On that day, Craven told his daughter that he was leaving town for the day, mentioning destinations such as Winston-Salem, Charlotte, or Statesville. He never returned home. A few days after his disappearance, his beige 1978 Ford Fairmont was found abandoned at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
