Alvin Palmer Jr., a 31-year-old man from Richton, Mississippi, went missing on August 20, 2001. He was last seen that morning after leaving his mother's house with a friend. Later that day, he stopped at Brewer Grocery on Highway 42, where he was observed getting into a dark-colored vehicle, described as a 1990s model Nissan or Pontiac Grand Am, with at least one other person inside.
