Deborah Fortunato Dill, aged 48, was last seen at her home in Augusta, Georgia, on March 24, 2006, around 4:30 p.m. She had been living with her husband, John Dill, with whom she had a troubled relationship marked by several reports of domestic violence. On the day she disappeared, the couple had an argument, and Deborah reportedly told her husband, "If you leave, I won't be around when you come back." John left the house, and when he returned, Deborah and many of her belongings were gone.
