Roxanne Elizabeth Paltauf, an 18-year-old from Austin, Texas, was last seen on July 7, 2006, under suspicious circumstances. She had been staying at a Budget Inn motel near Interstate 35 and Rundberg with her boyfriend, Louis Walls. After an argument with Walls, Roxanne reportedly stormed out of the motel carrying only her ID. She has not been seen or heard from since.
Walls told police he tried to follow her, but she told him to leave her alone, and when he looked for her later, she had disappeared.
Investigations revealed troubling details. Walls, who had a criminal record, checked out of the motel the next day, taking Roxanne’s belongings with him, which compromised potential evidence. Additionally, over 300 calls were made from Roxanne’s phone after her disappearance, many of them to Walls' ex-girlfriend and local establishments, raising further suspicions. Another person of interest, Geoffrey Moore, was found in possession of Roxanne's ID after being arrested for an attempted assault, though charges against him were later dropped.
Despite multiple leads and extensive efforts by authorities, Roxanne's whereabouts remain unknown, and foul play is suspected. Her case continues to be actively investigated, with her family pushing for answers in the hope of finding closure.Last Seen: Jul 7, 2006
