Katherine Anderson, a 24-year-old woman from Chester, Maryland, was last seen on April 20, 1979. At the time of her disappearance, Katherine was living in the small community of Chester on Kent Island. She had a quiet life, making her sudden disappearance all the more perplexing. On the day she was last seen, Katherine left her residence and was expected to return later, but she never did. Her family reported her missing when she failed to return, and an investigation was launched.
