Kristy Lynne Booth, a 19-year-old from Midland, Texas, disappeared on the night of February 2, 1980. She was last seen at the Dimensions Nightclub, a popular spot at the time. Kristy had gone to the club with friends, leaving behind her shoes, coat, and purse when she vanished. The night was cold, and her belongings left behind suggested she didn’t intend to leave for long or in the freezing temperatures without her coat.
Her white and maroon AMC Pacer was borrowed by a friend and later found abandoned two days after her disappearance, about two miles south of Midland on a highway. Interestingly, the vehicle had been driven an additional 268 miles that could not be accounted for, further deepening the mystery surrounding her case.
Despite an extensive investigation, including the questioning of her friend and numerous leads over the years, Kristy was never found, and her case remains one of Midland’s oldest cold cases.
