Rita L. Rinehart, aged 32, was last seen on April 18, 1980, in Kansas City, Missouri. At the time, she worked at the Folgers coffee plant downtown but lived in Raymore, Missouri, after moving away from her husband, David Rinehart, due to domestic abuse. David had been charged with raping Rita's 8-year-old daughter, and Rita was supposed to testify against him in court. She had expressed fear for her safety before her disappearance, mentioning that David had once held a gun to her head.
