Summary based on the NamUs case record (MP108282)
In the late summer of 2023, the family of Sebastian Paris Turman was anticipating his return home to Delaware. The 21-year-old had been on a trip in Utah and was scheduled to fly back on September 4, 2023. However, he never boarded his flight. The following day, on September 5, 2023, instead of being home with his loved ones, Sebastian was in Reno, Nevada. This was the last time anyone is known to have seen him.
The reasons for his sudden change in travel plans remain a painful mystery to those who know him. Authorities believe that he may have had the intention of traveling to San Francisco, California, but his exact whereabouts since that day in Reno are unknown. The San Francisco Police Department is the primary agency investigating his disappearance.
Sebastian was known as a young man of deep faith. A junior biblical studies major, he had a passion for his beliefs that had previously led him on a spontaneous mission trip to India in the fall of the preceding year. His travels and experiences, including time spent working at a camp in Utah, painted a picture of a person with a sense of adventure and a strong calling to his faith. His sudden and unexplained disappearance is a stark contrast to the dedicated and purposeful individual his community knew him to be. The lack of communication from him is considered highly uncharacteristic, adding to the deep concern for his well-being.
At the time of his disappearance, Sebastian was described as a White male, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds, with both brown hair and brown eyes. The search for answers continues, but information about his movements and his state of mind leading up to and during his time in Reno is scarce. The overview of this case is one of a young man who, after a trip, deviated from his known plans for reasons unknown. Instead of a happy homecoming, his family was left with uncertainty. The trail of information ends in Reno, leaving a void where a vibrant young man's story should be, and the quiet, desperate hope for his safe return.Last Seen: Sep 5, 2023
