In the spring of 1987, Rhonda Joy Baucom was a 29-year-old woman living in Charlotte, North Carolina. Described by her family as a 'homebody,' she was not the type of person to leave home without telling anyone. Standing at 5'4' and weighing around 120 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes, Rhonda's life took an unexplained turn in late May of that year.
