James Garris, an 80-year-old man from Litchfield, Connecticut, went missing on July 7, 1999. Garris was last seen at approximately 6:00 a.m. at the Sarah Pierce Assisted Living Community, where he had recently moved due to a rapid decline in his ability to care for himself following a diagnosis of dementia in 1998. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing tan pants, a white polo shirt, and brown shoes.
