On the evening of September 10, 1975, 21-year-old Kristina Ann Perkins, also known as Kris or Kristi, disappeared from her Phoenix, Arizona apartment. That night, she had been on a dinner date with her fiancé. He escorted her to her apartment in the 1900 block of West Aster at approximately 10:30 p.m. and saw her go inside. As they had arranged, she flashed the porch light to signal that she was safely inside. This was the last time anyone is known to have seen or heard from Kristina. At the time of her disappearance, she was employed as a dental assistant. Kristina was described as a White female with brown hair and brown eyes. She had a one-and-a-half-inch scar on the top of her left wrist and wore a wire dental retainer on her lower jaw. Seven days after she was last seen, on September 17, 1975, Kristina's unoccupied vehicle was discovered. Her 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass, which was yellow and green, was found abandoned in a desert area near North 51st Avenue and West Bell Road. There was no sign of Kristina at the scene, and her purse was also missing. The discovery of her car in a secluded area, miles from her home, heightened concerns for her safety. Foul play is suspected in Kristina's disappearance. Following her disappearance, Kristina's ex-husband made unsettling statements to her sister, Laura. He reportedly told Laura that he and Kristina had argued and that Kristina was dead. He allegedly went on to say that if anyone asked about her, he would tell them she died of cancer. Despite these statements, authorities were never able to definitively link him to her disappearance, and he has since passed away. Over the years, Kristina's parents also passed away without knowing what happened to their daughter. Her sister, however, continues to hope for answers.
