Joseph Helt, a 17-year-old from Ellenville, New York, was last seen on January 16, 1987. Helt, a high school student with a close circle of friends, disappeared under puzzling circumstances after a night out. On the night of his disappearance, Helt was with a group of friends near an abandoned ski lodge in the mountainous area surrounding Ellenville. He was last seen walking away from a broken-down car, intending to seek help, but he never returned, and that was the last anyone saw of him.
