Arkadiy Tashman, a 17-year-old from Staten Island, New York, went missing on January 26, 2005. He was last seen leaving a friend’s house around 2:45 a.m. to head home, but he never arrived. His family found a cryptic note in his bedroom the following morning that read, "Sorry about this. No wake, no funeral." This led to concerns that Arkadiy may have been struggling with depression and possibly suicidal, although those close to him reported no clear signs of this before his
disappearance.
Arkadiy, who was a junior at Port Richmond High School, had been upset over a recent breakup, which could have contributed to his emotional state. However, his family and friends insist that his disappearance was out of character. Known for his love of skateboarding, investigators searched various skate parks across New York City, hoping to find him.
Despite the initial delay in launching an official search, Arkadiy has never been located. He is described as 6'2" tall with light brown hair, blue-gray eyes, and scars on both arms. His case remains unsolved, and while some consider the possibility of him running away, he is classified as an endangered missing person due to the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
