Linda Lois Little, a 43-year-old woman from Daytona Beach, Florida, went missing on October 11, 1991. She was last seen after leaving work at the Chart House restaurant, where she worked as a waitress. Little had spent part of the night with friends at a bar, Matey's Brig, and was last seen at a nearby 7-Eleven around 2 a.m. while riding her blue and rust-colored Murray beach cruiser bicycle.
She was believed to be heading home but never arrived and did not show up for her next shift, which was unusual for her. After being reported missing, her apartment was found undisturbed, raising further concerns about her disappearance.
For years, her case remained a mystery until, in 2022, Michael S. Townson, a convicted killer serving a life sentence for another crime, confessed to killing Little. Townson claimed he met her by chance on the night she disappeared and killed her after a sudden violent outburst. He explained that his deep-seated hatred of women, stemming from a traumatic childhood, led him to commit the murder. He also indicated that he buried her body, though her remains have never been found. Townson has been linked to other murders, raising the possibility that he could be responsible for additional unsolved cases.
The confession brought some closure to Little's family, who had sought answers for over three decades. However, without the recovery of her remains, full resolution has yet to be achieved.
