Richard Gary Jr., 58 years old at the time of his disappearance, was last seen on November 1, 1994, in Sumter, South Carolina. On that day, Gary left his home on Rosewood Drive around 7:30 p.m. to purchase kerosene from a nearby convenience store. After completing the purchase and loading the kerosene into his 1980 Oldsmobile Regency, he drove away and was never seen again. The clerk at the store was the last known person to see him.
