Skyla Marburger, an infant only three months old, was last seen with her parents on September 1, 1995, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Skyla was born in a private home in Glorieta, NM, without any medical attention, and there were no official records of her birth. Following their time in Santa Fe, her parents, Richard Marburger and Meegan Kerr, returned to their home in Houston, Texas, but without Skyla.
Foul play is suspected in her disappearance.
Investigations revealed that her parents refused to cooperate with authorities, invoking their Fifth Amendment rights. A significant lead came from a coworker of Skyla's grandmother, who shared that Richard had allegedly told her the child had died suddenly and was buried in a remote area under a tree. Authorities believe Skyla may have passed away in late October 1995, and her remains could be buried in a national park near Healdsburg, California, where her parents were living at the time. However, despite extensive efforts, her case remains unsolved, and she has never been located.
