Vycheslav Arkadyevich Akopov, a 52-year-old immigrant from Uzbekistan, was last seen on September 12, 1998, in Bladensboro, North Carolina. Akopov, who often helped fellow immigrants from his home country by providing them with temporary housing, disappeared after driving two men he had recently brought from Raleigh to various locations in an effort to help them find work.
