Around 6:45 p.m. that evening, she was outside her family's apartment complex on North Long Beach Boulevard, speaking to an unidentified woman. Erika has not been seen or heard from since that day. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jean shorts, and blue tennis shoes.
Authorities initially considered the possibility that Erika had run away, but no concrete evidence supports this theory. There were no signs of foul play, yet investigators have not ruled out other possibilities. Her case remains unsolved, and despite the passage of years, little progress has been made in determining what happened to her. Her family continues to search for answers, with age-progressed images showing what Erika might look like as an adult.
