Jahi Turner, a 2-year-old boy, was reported missing on April 25, 2002, in San Diego, California. Jahi had been in the care of his stepfather, Tieray Jones, while his mother, Tameka Jones, was deployed with the U.S. Navy. According to Tieray, he had taken Jahi to a park near their apartment in the Golden Hill neighborhood of San Diego. He claimed that while he briefly left the child unattended to buy a drink, Jahi vanished from the playground.
