Alexis Hernandez-Repollet, a 5-year-old boy from San Francisco, went missing on May 1, 2002, alongside his mother, Evelyn Hernandez, who was eight months pregnant. The two were last seen in their Crocker-Amazon neighborhood. Evelyn was reported missing by her boyfriend a week later, after he was unable to reach her. In July 2002, Evelyn’s partial remains were discovered in the San Francisco Bay, but her unborn child and Alexis were never found.
Evelyn had limited English skills and did not own a car, making her disappearance more perplexing. Investigators initially considered the possibility that she may have left voluntarily but soon suspected foul play. Evelyn's wallet, containing a disability check, was found near her boyfriend’s workplace, raising suspicions, but no direct evidence linked him to the crime. Despite the discovery of Evelyn's remains, Alexis's whereabouts remain unknown, and foul play is suspected in his case.
