Jaydan Seal, a 1-year-old boy, went missing on July 30, 2006, in a tragic accident near Garleys Wash, Utah. He was traveling with his family in a Ford Bronco when they were caught in a flash flood. A 20-foot wall of water hit the vehicle as they drove through Garley Canyon, sweeping it downstream nearly a mile. The vehicle overturned several times during the flood. Jaydan's 5-year-old brother, Levi, was trapped under the Bronco, while Jaydan disappeared.
Their parents and 3-year-old sister survived, although the sister was hospitalized for injuries.
Levi tragically succumbed to his injuries, and despite extensive search efforts, Jaydan’s body was never found. Searchers combed the area for days, but the intense conditions, including thick silt and dangerous floodwaters, complicated recovery efforts. Authorities believe Jaydan may be buried under several feet of silt, making it extremely difficult to locate his remains. Despite scaling back formal searches, the case remains open, with occasional efforts to recover Jaydan’s body continuing over time.
