Adam Kellner, a 34-year-old man from Stevenson Ranch, California, was last seen at his home on November 8, 2007. Adam, who suffered from schizophrenia, lived a highly isolated life with his mother and stepfather. At the time of his disappearance, his mother was away on a business trip, and his stepfather was recovering from knee surgery. Adam helped his stepfather to bed around 9:30 p.m. but was discovered missing the following day when his stepfather noticed he had not come out of his room by the afternoon.
Adam left behind all of his personal belongings, including his clothes, ID, and cigarettes—items he typically relied on. He had no transportation, a driver's license, or a cell phone. Given his medical condition, Adam required medication to manage schizophrenia, though he had been stable at the time of his disappearance. His family reported that he rarely left the house except for medical appointments, which made his sudden vanishing even more unusual.
Despite extensive searches and appeals, no trace of Adam has ever been found. His family believes he may have hitchhiked out of the area, but there are no clear leads on his whereabouts. His case remains unsolved.
