Ivy Marie Leinen, an 11-year-old girl from Poplar, Montana, went missing on March 14, 2010. She was last seen around 4:00 p.m., leaving her home to take four of her family's dogs for a walk. Her home was located near the Missouri River, and within 15 to 20 minutes, the dogs returned without her. Concerned, her family immediately began searching for her.
Search efforts, including tracking dogs, followed Ivy’s footprints to an island in the river. Her tracks, along with those of the dogs, continued onto the ice-covered Missouri River, ending abruptly at a hole in the ice. Authorities believe Ivy may have fallen into the river, leading to her presumed death.
Despite extensive searches, her body was never recovered, and her disappearance remains classified as a suspected accidental drowning.
At the time of her disappearance, Ivy was a fifth-grader at Culbertson School and lived with her mother and grandparents. Her family held a memorial service soon after her disappearance, but her case remains open, and she has never been found.Last Seen: Mar 14, 2010
