Bernard Rusness, aged 48, and his common-law wife, Peggy Parmenter, disappeared under mysterious circumstances on April 3, 1976, from their farm in Wolf Lake, Minnesota. That evening, a devastating fire consumed their home, which was discovered by neighbors between 11:30 p.m. and midnight.
