Patricia Laemmerhirt, a 27-year-old woman from Westfield, New York, went missing on April 3, 1976. She lived with her husband, Ernest Laemmerhirt Jr., on North Portage Street. In the months leading up to her disappearance, Patricia confided in her brother that she was experiencing marital problems. She temporarily left her home in March 1976 to stay with her mother in Westkirk, New York, but later returned to live with her husband.
