Gaetano "Guy" Vallese, a 34-year-old man from Fishkill, New York, was last seen on May 14, 1979, driving northbound on the New York State Thruway after leaving New York City around 8:30 p.m. His estranged wife reported him missing after he failed to pick up their children as scheduled. Vallese's blue 1977 Chevrolet was found parked at his home on Smithtown Road in Fishkill on May 23, but there was no sign of him.
