James Peters Missing Person Case

James Ronald Peters, a 19-year-old from El Cajon, California, was last seen on September 3, 1988. Shortly before his disappearance, he had moved out of his family's home in La Mesa and into an apartment on Peach Avenue with a roommate. On the night of his last known sighting, Peters briefly visited his mother, dropping off his house keys and acting unusually somber. He left after telling her that she would "be safer" with the keys. This was the last time his family saw him.
