Daisy Belle Marshall, a 46-year-old woman from Evansville, Indiana, was last seen on June 15, 1993, at her residence on East Tennessee Street, where she lived with her ex-husband, Gary Head. Although they had divorced in early 1993, Head had moved back into her home in April of that year. On the day of her disappearance, Head claimed he last saw her at around 2:00 p.m. before he took a nap. When he woke up, Daisy was gone.
She left behind all her personal belongings, including her purse, jewelry, and her cherished black Corvette.
A week after her disappearance, Daisy was reported missing by her daughter when she failed to attend a family Father's Day event. Prior to vanishing, Daisy had quit her job as a bartender, and on the day she went missing, a dozen roses addressed to her were delivered to the tavern where she worked, but she never picked them up.
Gary Head became a prime suspect when he was seen driving Daisy’s Corvette after she disappeared, and shortly afterward, he abruptly left town for Florida. In 1998, Head was charged with Daisy’s murder, with prosecutors claiming he had plotted her death due to resentment over their divorce settlement. However, there was no physical evidence or witnesses to substantiate the charges, and Head was acquitted after a second trial in 1999.
