On May 12, 2000, 1-year-old Sidney Keara Smith, her 1-month-old sister Monique, and their mother, Jennifer Lancaster, disappeared from Topeka, Kansas. The three were last seen leaving their home around 8:00 p.m. to visit an acquaintance, but they never arrived at their destination. Jennifer's 1994 Jeep Cherokee was found abandoned in an apartment complex parking lot, with all personal items, including baby car seats and keys, missing from the vehicle.
