Curtis Pishon, a 40-year-old former police officer, disappeared on July 5, 2000, while working the night shift as a security guard at Venture Corporation in Seabrook, New Hampshire. Pishon, who had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1994, struggled with depression and alcohol abuse following his diagnosis. On the night of his disappearance, he called the fire department around 1:42 a.m. to report that his car had caught fire in the parking lot. Despite this, he appeared calm and composed when firefighters arrived. After the fire was extinguished, Pishon returned to his duties, but by 3:45 a.m., he was no longer at his post, and two vehicles were seen speeding away from the area around the same time.

All of Pishon’s personal items, including his cigarettes, glasses, and packed lunch, were left behind in the guard shack, and his car fire remained suspicious. Investigators have considered multiple theories, including the possibility of suicide, but Pishon’s family strongly believes foul play was involved, especially since he had expressed concerns about illegal activities at the factory and had mentioned feeling unsafe. Despite extensive searches and investigations, including the questioning of a coworker who later boasted about killing him, no substantial evidence has been found, and his body has never been recovered. Pishon was declared legally dead in 2008, but the case remains unsolved.
