Alexander Haig Tafralian, a 54-year-old aluminum windows and siding salesman from Manchester, New Hampshire, was last seen on July 10, 1963. He was carrying a significant amount of cash at the time, likely the payroll for his work crew. Tafralian was at the now-defunct Sacca Bar in Manchester before his disappearance. The next day, his green Nash Rambler station wagon was found abandoned in the North End of the city. Witnesses reported seeing an unidentified man wiping the car's steering wheel with a handkerchief.

Despite extensive searches over the years, including digs and searches of quarries and areas near the Manchester Country Club, no trace of Tafralian has ever been found. Police have long suspected foul play, especially given that Tafralian may have been involved in illegal bookmaking activities. A 2004 investigation suggested that a metal object, possibly his car, might be buried under a diverted stream near the country club, but a 2013 dig yielded no results.

Tafralian was a family man, and his sudden disappearance shocked his loved ones, who do not believe he would have left voluntarily. His case remains unsolved, and authorities continue to investigate, suspecting that he may have been the victim of a crime.
