Glenn Allan Chrzan was 65 years old when he was last seen in Manchester, New Hampshire, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. According to public reports based on law enforcement information, he left Catholic Medical Center on foot at about 8:23 a.m. and was later seen walking northbound on Notre Dame Avenue. He was described as a White male with brown hair and brown eyes, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and approximately 200 pounds in early public alerts.
He was last reported wearing a black puffy jacket, black pants, and black slippers. His family also said he had multiple health issues and difficulty walking, making his disappearance especially urgent and concerning.
Chrzan’s disappearance unfolded during the winter, after he reportedly left the hospital and did not return to the Helping Hands shelter in Manchester, where he had been staying. Later reporting from the Concord Monitor described him as a Navy veteran who had experienced homelessness in Texas before relocating to New Hampshire to be closer to his sister, Deborah Eckland. He had spent time in Concord before moving to the Manchester shelter, and his sister said Manchester was unfamiliar to him. In January, he had been dealing with serious health issues, including congestive heart failure and lung disease, and his family’s concern grew when he failed to make contact after leaving the medical center.
His sister reported him missing to Manchester Police on January 29, 2025. Public reporting indicates that police checked areas around Catholic Medical Center, nearby businesses, walking trails, shelters, and homeless encampments. Investigators also spoke with shelter staff, hospital security, and medical personnel to reconstruct his movements. According to the Concord Monitor’s timeline, hospital security staff indicated that Chrzan left Catholic Medical Center shortly before 8:30 a.m. after refusing treatment and a ride back to Helping Hands; he was later seen near the Rite Aid parking lot next door, and security footage last showed him walking along Notre Dame Avenue shortly after 9:40 a.m.
A Missing Vulnerable Adult/Silver Alert was issued at the request of Manchester Police, asking the public for help locating him. The alert emphasized his health concerns, difficulty walking, and last known clothing. Family members and authorities urged anyone who saw him or had information to contact Manchester Police. His sister also searched personally, traveling from Concord to Manchester by bus and walking through areas near the hospital, Elm Street, nearby neighborhoods, and other places where she hoped someone might have seen him.
The case is no longer an active missing persons case. Glenn Chrzan was located deceased. Manchester Police found his body in a wooded area off Eddy Road in Manchester, and New Hampshire State Police canceled the Silver Alert after his remains were found. Public reports stated that his cause of death was still pending at the time, but police did not consider the circumstances suspicious. A later Concord Monitor report said his body was found on March 15, 2025, near an Interstate 293 exit ramp.
Chrzan’s death brought a heartbreaking end to a search that lasted 47 days. His sister and those who cared about him remembered him not only as a missing person, but as a loved brother, a veteran, and a man whose final months reflected the vulnerability faced by people experiencing homelessness and serious illness.
