On February 15, 2008, a 30-year-old woman named Sasha Davis, along with her infant daughter, Selah, and a companion, Jarib Bennett, departed from the Bronx, New York. Sasha, a resident of New York City, was traveling with her friend Jarib, who lived in New Jersey. The group was reportedly on their way to Rochester, New York, for a brief visit with friends and had plans to return just a few days later on February 19. Sasha left another daughter at home and was expected to be gone for only a short time. They embarked on their journey in a rental car, a trip that should have taken approximately five and a half hours. However, after leaving the Bronx, Sasha, her baby, and their friend were never seen or heard from again. The days stretched on with no word from Sasha, causing growing concern among her family and friends. Their scheduled return date of February 19 came and went, amplifying the worry. The first significant development in the case came on February 27, when the rental vehicle they had been traveling in was discovered abandoned. The car was located on Genesee Street in the southwest area of Rochester, not far from Genesee Valley Park. The discovery of the empty vehicle, twelve days after they were last seen, only deepened the mystery surrounding their disappearance. It remains unclear if they ever reached their intended destination in Rochester. The case of Sasha Davis and her daughter has been plagued by a lack of substantial evidence and leads over the years. The circumstances of their disappearance are considered uncharacteristic, as neither Sasha nor Jarib had a history of leaving without informing anyone. The investigation grew more complex with reports surfacing years later of an obituary for a man with the same name and birthdate as Jarib Bennett, who reportedly passed away in 2017. Despite this, the official missing persons case for all three individuals has remained open, leaving their families with unanswered questions. The New York City Police Department's Missing Persons Squad has been handling the investigation, but very few details have been publicly released.
